I am on a new and exciting journey into a world unknown to me – that of being a full-time artist.
I find it relaxing to sit on my recliner and draw on Fabriano paper with simple ballpoints. Later I build on these drawings by sewing, collaging, painting and all sorts of experimentation. I am curious and inquisitive and I enjoy exploring different methods to improve and hone my skills. I spend hours drawing, doodling, pasting and painting each work of art. Because making the piece is a pleasure, time flies by and the process has become my happy place.
My passion is portraits. I’m fascinated by people, their inner vibrations and the life they radiate. I endeavour to capture these elusive qualities in my artist’s expressions. I also paint African wildlife, flowers and landscapes in oils.
Exploring and playing with numerous processes has led me on a continuous journey in my artmaking and has become my individual artist’s expression.
